Save a couple champagne corks or wine or whisky corks to temporarily hold your flies to dry after rinsing them in fresh water at home after a day of fishing. Spirit corks with a wide flat bottom are best. Insert the fly’s hook at the top of the cork and set the cork’s flat vase down a safe flat surface. Several flies can be held at a time in one upright cork with only the hook part touching anything leaving the body of the fly to air dry rapidly. When thoroughly dry, comb out and replace the fly in the your storage fly box.
