Our September 19th, dinner meeting speaker with be Mac Brown who will instruct us about fly casting line control.

Mac is a Master Casting Instructor through the Fly Fishers International (FFI). He resides in Bryson City, NC. His work has appeared in Fly Rod and Reel, Fly Fisherman, Angling Report, ESPN, Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, Fly Fishing America T.V., and many others.

He was angler of the year for Field and Stream and has been a pro staff member of Ross Reels, Scientific Anglers, Richardson Chest Boxes, G Loomis, Simms and many others since the early 1990’s.

Mac started the fly fishing programs for Western Carolina University in the mid 1990’s. He is a professional guide through his company McLeod’s Highland Fly Fishing, which specializes in casting instruction, schools, demos, lectures, destination trips and clinics.

He has fished around the globe many times in pursuit of sport fish. The 40 years of knowledge and skill Mac brings to the sport of fly fishing have helped thousands of beginners and advanced anglers alike become more proficient in the art of fly casting. His enthusiasm and passion for the sport is contagious for all levels.

A President’s Dinner Choice, for $25, will be served with a Bartender serving beer and wine drinks for a $5 donation.

Washington Fly Fishing Club — Covid Protocol

The worldwide Covid pandemic continues, even if severity and duration of the illness may be reduced.  Our Club has a large number of members and guests who are part of the vulnerable, high-risk population.  If you are experiencing any symptoms that could be Covid, runny nose, sore throat, cough, any other symptom, please do not attend the meeting or event, even if you believe the symptoms are of a mere cold or allergy and even if you test negative.  Please do use the Zoom link, when provided.  If you have previously paid for the meeting or event, and decline to attend because of symptoms, the Club will gladly refund your money.
