October 14-15 WFFC Big Twin Lake Outing
October 14 @ 8:00 am - October 15 @ 5:00 pm PDT| Free – $40.00
Big Twin Lake Outing – October 14-15, 2023
Mike Nolan will be hosting the outing at Big Twin Lake which has excellent fly angling for rainbow trout and camping near the lake. Sinking lines with woolly bugger, dragon fly and damsel patterns work well out in the middle. Floating or intermediate lines with nymphs work well around the edges and in the shallows.
The club will provide steaks for those that sign up in advance, along with beverages. Please bring appetizers and side dishes to share. As usual, happy hour (with club beverages) starts around 5:00 PM, with dinner an hour or so later.
At Big Twin Lake Campground there are RV sites, tent sites and cabin rentals available as well as showers, rowboat rentals and a boat launch. There is complimentary Wi-Fi. The campground is fine, and easy to find, only 15 minutes from Winthrop. Let the campground know that you are with the WFFC as we will have a group area. You can make reservations at www.bigtwinlakeresort.com/reserve or call 509-996-2650. The address is 210 Twin Lakes Rd., Winthrop, WA 98862. There are motels in Winthrop, also.
Members, if you can take another member in your boat to fish at the Big Twin outing, please acknowledge this in the “I will Assist With” sign-up, so that we can organize members to fish with you.
The outing is Free for WFFC Members and $40 fee for non-WFFC Members which can be applied towards becoming a annual member dues of $80. Optionally, you can also make a $20 donation to support the costs of the Steak Dinner and beverage libations.
