Grew up in upstate New York plying the waters of the Catskills and Adirondacks for wild trout. Began wielding a fly rod around 8 as well as tying flies and was an early adopter to fly rodding the Salmon River for steelhead.

Moved to Seattle in 1999, worked at REI for a bit and then at Orvis for 6 years and always heard about swinging flies in the PNW for steelhead and set forth on figuring out that he actually LOVES IT!
