May 26-28 Chopaka Lake Outing – CANCELLED due to Road Closure

Our annual pilgrimage to Chopaka Lake is on! The best dry fly action of the season (at least for me) happens here every Memorial Day weekend. Mayflies hatch around noon, damsels in the warmer afternoons. Bubbly gulps vs. crashing grabs! Both really fun!
The club meets and camps in the meadows on the lake, and has a happy hour each evening around 5ish. As usual, pot luck on appetizers and side dishes. We will have the club grill set up for everyone to use on Saturday. The wide variety of things people char can be a real photo-op! The club provides beer, pop, and cheap wine. Classier choices are on you!
Traditionally, we’ve had a pancake breakfast Sunday morning, and a tempura happy hour Sunday evening. Hopefully all the usual volunteers will be there to pull it all off!
Please sign up and let me know if you can haul equipment along with you. Coolers, canopies, grill, etc.
Thanks in advance, see you there! Outing committee host. Dave Schorsch organizing. 206-775-9948.
The road up to Lake Chopaka was washed out due to flooding and will not be repaired in time for our outing this year.
