THE BEGINNING FLY TYING CLASS IS SOLD OUT!
The Beginning Fly Tying Class is taught by members of the Washington Fly Fishing Club. You will learn to tie 15 Northwest trout fly patterns, as well as receiving personal instruction on useful fly tying skills.
The class tuition is free for WFFC Members and $80 Non-Members that can be applied to become a Washington Fly Fishing Club Member if you choose to do so. Each student will be given online access to the WFFC Fly Tying Manual and a personal copy of a DVD showing close-ups of each fly as it is being tied.
Each class consists of watching a video of the fly being tied followed by hands-on tying with class instructors helping you personally to learn the necessary tying skills. Each successive fly that you tie has been selected to build on the skills learned from tying the previous flies.
Homework assignments will help you perfect your skills and fill your fly boxes with commonly used Northwest flies.
Complete fly tying tool/vise kits ($40) and extensive material kits ($160) for the 15 fly patterns are available for purchase at the first class session. You may provide your own; however, we highly recommend these kits as an easy and economical way to get started.
The class is taught in a classroom at the Evergreen Covenant Church on Mercer Island. This year there are 8 class sessions beginning on Thursday January 3rd from 7 to 9 PM and continuing each Thursday evening through February 21. The class size is limited to twelve participants.
Signup today to insure that you will have a spot in January 3rd class.
