September 22 and 23 Chopaka Lake Outing “Lite”- RESCHEDULED

September 22, 2018 - September 23, 2018
Chopaka Lake, Chopaka Lake
Chopaka Lake, WA 98827 United States

We have rescheduled the annual pilgrimage to Chopaka Lake, that was canceled in May due to its road closer. We'll be heading over to fish for a few days, and have a happy hour Saturday evening.  We won't do all the other traditional stuff like barbecuing, breakfast, and tempura.  Fires will most likely be prohibited, including charcoal grills.     Thanks in advance, hope to see you there!  Outing committee host.  Dave Schorsch organizing.  206-775-9948.

October 2018

October 6-7 Big Twin Lake Outing

October 6, 2018 - October 7, 2018
Big Twin Lake Campground and RV Park, 210 Twin Lakes Rd
Winthrop, WA 98862 United States

Big Twin Lake Outing This is fall fishing.  Sunny days, chilly nights, active fish in cooler waters feeding up for the winter.  Big twin has excellent fly angling for rainbows.  Lots of fish cruise the shallows this time of year, and a sinker and leech are always good farther out.  My favorite is a dry line with a long leader to a weighted nymph.  Sight fishing or covering rises usually does the trick. We'll set up the barbecue and provide…

November 2018

November 3-4 Wet Buns Outing

November 3, 2018 - November 4, 2018
Penrose Point State Park, 321 158th Avenue Kp S
Lakebay, WA 98349 United States

Our annual celebration of the drizzle season! Finally! Normal Northwest weather! Chums are staging in the shallow estuaries, the resident coho are there for those who know where to cast, and the biggest searuns are looking for that last meal before a long winter in a little stream. Seafood stew, prepared by liberally lubricated volunteer labor always tastes best around a big fire. This is the best "outing" meal of the year as far as many are concerned, and is…

March 23, 2019 Nahwatzel Lake Day Outing

March 23 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Nahwatzel Lake, Mason County, Nahwatzel Lake WA 98584 United States

March 23rd Nahwatzel Lake Outing Nahwatzel Lake, Mason county.  This lake lies near Shelton in the hills of the South Sound.  It's about 280 acres at 460 feet in altitude.  Although the lake has development on three sides, ( what local water doesn't ) it is undeveloped on the north, and the water quality is high.  The lake has streams flowing into and out of the lake, into salt water.  As a result, both resident and sea run cutthroat trout…

Chopaka Lake is a beautiful place for great fishing and camping. Dry flies for rainbows and a few cutts! May 25th through 27th,  we will be having our annual outing to Chopaka Memorial Day weekend. This is historically the best time to catch the world famous Mayfly hatches there, and to get blown off the lake, frozen, fried, or wet! Honestly, the spring weather there can be "mixed", but most of the time it's just plain beautiful. Chopaka is just…
