At our next meeting Wednesday, May 5th @ 7:00p.m. (19:00) we will be tying a CDC Comparadun using split thread technique.  You will need a flat thread (Veevus 12.0 or Danville 6.0) or equivelent.  If you do not have Marc Petitjean’s Magic Tool, please do not rush out and get one.  You may use a clamp; like you would to hold a thick stack of papers or close up an opene bag of chips, etc.  Please take a moment to watch the video of Marc Petitjean using the Magic Tool.  This will show you what I am referring to.

Olive Comparadun:

Hook: Barbless dry fly #16 or #18

Thread: Olive, 70 denier. Flat thread; Veevus or Danville, as noted above.

Tails: Coq d’Leon or substitute.

Body: CDC feather, Olive

Wing: CDC feather, Dun or olive color.

As always, feel free to substitute color, tailing and or body material.

When you watch the following video link, do not be concerned about not having the ‘table’ that Marc shows. We will not need that for this fly. You will only need a clamp.
