Our next Fly Tying Forum will be June 30th. We will be tying the Brooks Sprout. This is a great emerger pattern. It can be tied as a baetis, callibaetis, trico, PMD, etc. I typically tie this in either black for a trico or olive for a baetis. The choice is yours. I will use both olive and black colors.
Brooks Sprout
Hook: Daiichi 1120 curved hook #18 or smaller or similar. Go small! Tie a #20!
Shuck: black or brown Z-Lon or similar shuck material
Body: 70 denier thread
Wing Post: Small white round foam
Hackle: black or dun. (Grizzle is fine, too)
Thorax: Black or olive dry fly dubbing (superfine)
