On Tuesday, August 21^st, we are going to be treated to five of the most outstanding speakers we’ve had for this annual event in several years.  As usual the evening will consist of a delicious barbecue dinner before the speakers begin, and during that time attendees can peruse a variety of used fly fishing equipment that our members will bring to the event to sell, trade, or give-away.  The festive mood will be accented by usual piano player. After dinner, and at approximately 7 pm, our four speakers will divide the room into four groups and begin simultaneous inter-active discussions on their topics.  At 8 pm, or so we will call a recess, and our members can then rotate to hear another of the speakers for an hour.  One or two door prize raffles will also be conducted during the evening.

Roundtable seminar topics and featured speakers:

TOPIC 1:  YAKIMA RIVER:  Joe Rotter, head guide from Red’s Fly Shop in the Yakima River Canyon will talk on “How to fish the Yakima on foot” including best season, location, access and tactics.

TOPIC 2:   EUROPEAN NYMPHING:  In the second session Joe Rotter will discuss “European Nymphing:  How, Where, When, and Why” from 8:15 to 9 pm.

TOPIC 3:   Matt Palch from the Desert Angler in Ephrata will discuss opportunities to fish for Bass, Tiger Musky on Evergreen Reservoir, and Northern Pike on Lake Roosevelt.

TOPIC 4:  THE YELLOWSTONE:  Chester Allan, one of the most dynamic speakers in the NW will talk on “Yellowstone Runners” and how to intercept the large trout that migrate into the Yellowstone to spawn.  He will also bring copies of his new book on the subject.

TOPIC 5:  PUGET SOUND CUTTHROAT:  Brita Fordice, formerly of the Avid Angler, and now with Sage on Bainbridge Island will tackle “How, When, and Where to fish for cutthroat on Puget Sound”.
