WFFC Dinner Meeting – Ray Hilborn, U. W. Fisheries Department Senior Scientist

April 18, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm PDT

Ray Hilborn is a senior scientist at the U of W fisheries department, the author of more than 200 published studies on the world fisheries, and has on going projects involving salmon in Alaska. He has re-buffed many erroneous statements that various segments of our world fisheries are in decline and has agreed to come talk to us about his opinions and his ongoing research in the Northwest and Alaska on steelhead and salmon runs.   Are blue fin tuna stocks in rapid decline due to over fishing?   Are cod fish stocks off the NE coast of the US and Iceland on the rebound?

Can we preserve and improve our salmon and steelhead runs.  This should be an entertaining and provocative evening.
