SUMMARY:North Fork Stillaguamish River Outing
DESCRIPTION:Join us November 6–8\, 2026\, for a fly-fishing outing on the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River\, hosted by Ben Davidson. River conditions can change dramatically\, so plans may need to stay flexible. Barring emergency closures\, the North Fork system opens to fly fishing only on November 1st—a clear advantage for us. Ben will be inviting WFFC members to stay and fish at his property from Friday night through Sunday morning. There is ample room for tents and overnight trailer parking\, a private porta potty for our group\, and a great fire pit for cooking and sharing fish stories. Come fish for cutthroat trout\, steelhead\, and Dolly Varden. For information\, river access spots\, or recommended tactics\, call Ben at (206) 313-3531. \nBen’s riverfront property sits on the North Fork Stillaguamish near Oso\, WA\, at 26930 305th St. NE\, Arlington\, WA. The club will supply beverages\, plus burgers and brats for those who sign up in advance. Please bring appetizers\, side dishes\, or desserts to share. As usual\, happy hour (with club beverages) begins around 4:00 PM\, and dinner follows about an hour later.

SUMMARY:November 2026 Club Dinner Meeting Featuring Tim Bird
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our club’s November meeting featuring Tim Bird! \nTim came to the Seattle area from his native England in 1990 to work in biomedical research. A life-long angler\, he took up fly-fishing in earnest after retirement. For the past 8 years he has been exclusively targeting sea-run Cutthroat and Coho salmon in the waters near his home in Kitsap County.  Intrigued by the old-time fly patterns created by the pioneers of SRC fishing in the PNW\, Tim started a fly-tying YouTube channel. “The Saltwater Fly Angler” now focuses more on actual fishing in his home waters. \nTitle and Synopsis \n‘Shore Fishing for Sea-Run Cutthroat Trout in Central/North Puget Sound and Hood Canal’ \nUsing data from my own fishing logs\, I’ll describe the ideal locations and conditions for targeting SRC from the shore\, including a brief discussion of gear and techniques. I’ll take a detailed look at some of my favorite beaches\, and what makes them productive. I’ll finish my talk with a review of the natural diet and feeding habits of SRC\, and show some proven fly patterns old and new.
